I had completely forgotten about the wicked SF scene in City Hunter, where i saw Jacky Chan in drag for the first time as Chun Li. This one scene was really better then the Live Action movie don't you think? It even had all the original SF II sound effects. Here it is, if you wanna see it again =D http://youtube.com/watch?v=UA_ATLFxIA4

You have echoed exactly that which so many have said about that classic scene. The first time I ever saw it, I didn't even know it was Jackie as Chun Li! I only remember that she TOTALLY got that victory jump of hers down pat! When I later heard that it was Chan in the role I laughed so much harder the next time I saw it! Absolutely priceless and I developed even more respect for him as a comic actor after that.

Amazing!

Thanks for sharing the clip, Sakenomi. Smiley Gotta love the pre-digital-wizardry special effects! Sometimes, I wonder whether special-effects guys have become over-reliant on computers. Tongue

Whoever crafted that scene must've really loved Street Fighter II. They even went through the trouble of throwing in the in-game sound effects and music. Why don't Western producers ever do that?! Sad

Too bad whoever uploaded the clip you linked to wasn't savvy enough to switch to mono-left or mono-right mode to separate the Cantonese and Mandarin audio tracks. Many old Hong Kong Laserdiscs and VCDs stored the two language tracks this way. To switch languages

Edit: (Huh) Where'd the rest of my post go?Huh? Sad

Believe it or not, the technology existed back then (we used it in television at the time I was doing audio and music editing for TV). For some reason they just never implemented it on the VCD.
