Is it me or does it seem that Zangief appears to be smaller that his 7 foot stature in the game? Do you think this makes any difference at all.

Finding a 7 foot person is a task in itself (Or is it?!), and expecting to find someone in real life who is 100% identical to Zangief is a fairy tale thought It's a sad realization I've had to accept, that I'll never find a girl exactly like Chun Li thunder thighs But from what I've seen of the cast so far, everyone is great. I was surprised that Bison wasn't Thai, but the actor actually pulls it off with applause.

Well you are right, and this is all in fun anyway, so why not. I think that it is so funny I have had to send it to other people that I know that like the game.

At first I was like wtf? Zangief is supposed to big and all then I realized this is all for fun and can't take it too seriously. I just figured he sat on the couch since his fighting days and lost muscle mass and shrank lol.

It's all for fun and it's "The Later Years" so some time has past and they haven't been working out or fighting. I guess if it was "The Early Years" they could have casted Goldberg from wrestling to play him.

One day, during the shooting of Episode 3, I happened to be standing right in between my co-stars, Sean T. Krishnan (Dhalsim) and TJ Glenn (Vega) and felt absolutely dwarfed by these tall actors and made mention of it. We agreed that one could explain Dhalsim's height by noting that he has the power to stretch himself to be as tall as he likes. At 6 feet, 6 inches, TJ Glenn, however, is even an inch taller than Andrew Bryniarski, the actor who played Zangief before me! TJ had a funny idea. He suggested that Vega should say something to Zangief like, "So, I see you're not doing the juice anymore."
Zangief was notorious for his heavy abuse of steroids. So many images show Zangief with blood spurting from his head anytime he gets a bit stressed; a frequent steroid visual joke.
By the way, I've always had a HUGE crush on Goldberg and Sean got to appear in an episode of "Law & Order: SVU" with him, Goldberg playing a violently out-of-control man on PCP, I believe, and Mr. Krishnan playing Dr. Singh, a recurring character on the series who gets to treat the wounded Goldberg among others.
I'm not jealous, though... Really... Hey, I'M NOT!!!

nah its fantastic, i mean no offence Zangief, but i think we're all well aware by now that your not 7'+ but that Really adds to the whole 'after they were famous' gag, cause its the whole implication that he Used to be twice as big as everyone else and 3 times as Broad, such a good visual gag!
Pluss our Mr. Fass here does such a fantastic job as Zangy, i dont think ther'es a better man for the job!
Well done Mike!
on a side note...
...is there a chance...? ...that in the up coming series we might be treated to an updated version of Zangief's (and due to the console port's sound card sagat), but Originally Zangief's 'Signature Victory Laugh'?
cheers all

First, thanks for the compliment, Norinaga. I'll be wearing a larger hat size now.
It's funny that you should mention that because, on the set, I was always striking Zangief's victory pose and doing his classic SFII laugh but it never once got utilized in any way on SF:TLY. Now that I'm one of the head writers on SFR (okay, c'mon, Mike, enough with the initials, all right?), I have been planning on working that in all along so, yes, indeed, you will see our Russian hero do that. I think I've got it nailed and the Street Fighter II fans should definitely pick up on it. I'm writing it into Zangief's next really big battle in Episode 4.
Also, we will very definitely be working Zangief's diminished physical stature into the scripts repeatedly as a running gag. I think you'll appreciate it.
In the interest of avoiding any spoilers here, I'm not at liberty to discuss anything having to do with the late, great Sagat at this time but I can let you know that we really promise to fulfill all of your wishes throughout the course of the series as we move along... Okay, that, to me, sounds like a spoiler, too, so, hey, you didn't hear it from me, okay?

As for the Victory Pose, will you be doing the Dancing with Gorbachev one? I think that would be just a hoot to see. Seeing it in game is Funny enough, but having be reenacted? lol.
Speaking of Gorbachev, will our Red Cyclone have a meeting with him?

That's a GREAT idea, Matricks, and, ya know? With all the big stars we're bringing in to this show, it is not inconceivable to actually have Mr. Gorbachev himself appear with Zangief. As you know, Zangief considers his meeting with the President to be one of the most important moments of his life and he cried when Gorbachev honored him. And, yes, Norinaga, you got that right! Zangief used to enter the fighting arena to the Soviet National Anthem, clearly one of the greatest anthems ever composed. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=39QwQrfpeYg&feature=relatedGotta admit, I really like that Moscow song from Germany, though. Can't get it outta my head now, LOL! Great fun! Thanks for sharing that! Zangief's still a staunch patriot for his fallen USSR. On our series you'll see him frequenting a bar with some of his Old Believer Soviet comrades. Makes him feel almost like he's back home in Dnepropovinsk again. SIGH!
